ARE YOU READY?

"Where will you spend eternity?" The Bible, God's Holy word says; "And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment" (Hebrews 9:27). Time is short! It could be years or just a moment; but 10 out of 10 people die and step into eternity. The Bible tells us there is Heaven where the righteous will spend with God and hell where the wicked will face God's wrath forever. Are you righteous? The Bible says we must be morally perfect in thought, word and deed; this is measured by God's law, the ten commandments (Exodus 20).  (#9) Have you ever lied? (#8) Have you ever stolen? (#1) Have you ever put other "gods" before Him (money, sex, drugs, entertainment, self)?  (#7) He sees lust as adultery (Matthew 5:28).  (#6) He sees hatred as murder (Matthew 5:22).  Are you innocent or guilty?  Heaven or Hell?  The reality is "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).  We are all guilty and deserve eternal punishment because we have sinned against the infinite God.  There is nothing one can do to become acceptable to God.  Going to church and doing good deeds won't save anyone.  Just as good deeds will not cancel a criminal's crime, our good deeds will not cancel our sin against a Just and Holy God, especially once we understand that even our best deeds are like filthy rags to God (Isaiah 64:6).

But God did an amazing, Loving, thing.  He came to this earth in human flesh, the Son of God, Jesus Christ.  He was born of a virgin and lived a perfect, righteous life and then was crucified on the cross.  God put our sins upon sinless Christ and poured out His wrath upon Jesus as a punishment for our sins.  "....without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins" (Hebrews 9:22).  It is a Free gift!  Christ laid down His life as our substitute, taking our punishment so that we could be set free.  But after three days in the grave, God raised Jesus from the dead as proof that His sacrifice was acceptable to God.  God now commands us to repent, turn away from our sins and put our faith in Jesus Christ who died for us.  We need His perfect righteousness, so we must put on the Lord Jesus Christ, fully trusting Him for our salvation and live for Him, our Precious Living Saviour.  "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him" (John 3:36).  Jesus Christ is the Only way to be reconciled to God.  Jesus said "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." (John 14:6).  Cry out to God to change your heart!  Read your Holy Bible!  Don't Delay!  You may not have tomorrow.  If you have questions, please contact us at; questions@calgarypeacemakers.com
